The beatification of Nikolaus Groß on 7th October 2001 marks a culmination and a new starting point at the same time. It brings the process of beatification to a close and opens the perspective for worldwide worship. According to canon law global worship is made possible by canonisation. Thus the regional worship in the diocese of Essen is extended to the church as a whole. The Blessed person is then included into the list of "Saints", into the "Canon".
It is our sincere hope and confidence that the day will come when Nikolaus Groß is canonised and worshipped globally.
