After the execution of Nikolaus Groß the prison chaplain Buchholz took and kept the cross and the rosary. After an air raid on Berlin his flat was completely gutted.The death cross and the rosary were lost.
Later, in the year 1993 the Pope presented Bishop Dr. Hubert Luthe with a cross and a rosary in remembrance of the lost originals. These items are permanently displayed in the museum on loan by the family Groß
