The following historical path is 1,3 km long and takes you on a trip down memory lane on the footsteps of Elisabeth and Nikolaus Groß. A detailed description of the tour and the importance of the numbers can be found below the map.

In Mauritiusweg you find the Nikolaus-Groß-House (1), a museum in honour of Blessed Nikolaus Groß.

Pictures and tour round the museum

Opposite the Nikolaus-Groß-House is the entrance to the Dome of Niederwenigern (2). Take a look at the church with the Nikolaus-Groß-Memorial, a work of art by Bert Gerresheim. It was built for durable commemoration in that dome, where Elisabeth and Nikolaus Groß once were baptized, here they also went do their first Holy communion. On the outer wall of the church you can view a plaque of the Catholic working class movement (3).

You now go round the church to the other side of the Dome and stop before you reach the steps. In the first house on the left side, Domplatz 6, Nikolaus Groß was born on 30th September 1898. (4).

From this house you go back, past the Nikolaus-Groß-House into the Mauritiusweg. After some 80 meters you see the entrance to the cemetery. From here you find your orientation with the map of the cemetery:
